Walt Kosar is an instrumental guitarist and composer blending two-hand tapping, alternate tunings, live looping, and improvisation into immersive solo performances. Based in Northeastern Pennsylvania, Kosar performs original music throughout the region, Philadelphia, and New York City, with recent appearances including Strawberry Moon Festival, Musikfest 2026, and the Electric City Music Conference.

Building compositions layer by layer in real time, Kosar combines melodic songwriting with atmospheric textures, gradual builds, and improvisation to create a dynamic, full-band sound in a solo setting. His performances balance musicianship with an engaging stage presence, ranging from festival stages and traditional music venues to intimate listening experiences.

A graduate of Marywood University with a degree in music, Kosar is also a music educator and author of Fundamentals of Two-Hand Tapping. He leads guitar clinics exploring the technique and its application to composition, improvisation, and live performance.

Kosar has been featured several times in Guitar Player Magazine, which praised his understanding of “the fine art of tension and release.” His music has also been placed in television programming on MTV, VH1, CMT, Fox Sports, NBCSN, Discovery, and History.
